MLB trade rumors: Yankees learn what A’s want for Sonny Gray, Nationals also interested

Hearing a team is interested in a controllable starting pitcher at the trade deadline isn’t that ground-breaking, but to hear what a team wants for said starter can create some buzz.

The Yankees have been widely seen as one of the frontrunners for Athletics’ ace Sonny Gray this season, but the consensus has been they don’t want to give up top prospects like Clint Frazier or Gleyber Torres to get him.

That, he hopes, is about to change, Jones told Alex Marvez and Gil Brandt during their SiriusXM Training Camp Tour stop at the Cowboys’ camp in Oxnard, Calif.:

“I think we’ll have a decision imminently. Of course, I don’t know what that will be and wouldn’t want to have conjecture in any way involving that.

“What I have seen, though, is the presentation of Zeke and his people and I’ve seen the league’s presentation. There’s no domestic violence involved here.”

The Cowboys this week signed veteran running back Ronnie Hillman, but coach Jason Garrett told reporters Thursday (via ESPN.com) that the signing had nothing to do with a potential suspension of Elliott but was because of backup Jahad Thomas’ hamstring injury.

“It really has everything to do with Jahad’s situation,” Garrett said. “Jahad, we thought he was going to be healthy and ready to go for Discount Code For Cheap Jerseys training Cycling Cheap Jerseys camp, and … so we had to get another running back in here.”
