Ugly details emerge from David Price, Dennis Eckersley exchange on Red Sox plane

No one likes to be publicly criticized, or worse, have their friends publicly criticized. Professional athletes are no different. If they hear a critique of a teammate they don’t think is fair they will often tell their ‘haters’ what they think of them.

David Price is taking on all ‘haters’ this year and that has been widely noted across many forms of media. But maybe no incident was as ugly as the one he shared on a Red Sox team plane June 29 with NESN analyst Dennis Eckersley.

Price reportedly had sharp criticism for the Hall of Famer, who let out a “yuck” when NESN showed Eduardo Rodriguez’s subpar pitching statistics from a rehab outing with Double-A Portland. Price later took on Eckersly in the plane before a trip to Toronto.

“There’s no doubt John means a great deal to the Broncos, our fans and the entire community. It was important for us to reach this long-term agreement, and we’re all excited to now turn our full attention toward the 2017 season.”
