Nationals slug four HRs in a row, five in one inning to tie MLB record

The Nationals are having themselves a day at the ballpark.

During Thursday’s game against the Brewers at Nationals Park, Washington went off in the third inning to tie the MLB record for home runs in an inning (5) and consecutive home runs in an inning (4). The Nationals are just the eighth team in league history to hit four straight homers.

It all started with a dinger courtesy of outfielder Brian Goodwin, followed by homers from shortstop Wilmer Difo, outfielder Bryce Harper (his second of the day) and first baseman Ryan Zimmerman. Although second baseman Daniel Murphy hit a fly out to center field to snap the streak, third baseman Anthony Rendon got the team back on track with another home run to give Washington its sixth run of the inning.

Added Mark Lazarus, chairman of NBC Broadcasting and Sports: “We are excited to welcome Dale Jr. to our team — both on and off the track. As a company, NBCUniversal allows for talent to stretch themselves across not just their field of expertise, but across other areas of their interests in the media world.”

Earnhardt, 42, indeed is a huge Redskins fan. He explained why in an ESPN piece back in 2012.

Earnhardt made clear in March that he’s not afraid to criticize his own team. After Redskins owner Daniel Snyder terminated general manager Scot McCloughan, Junior expressed his displeasure with that move and the team’s handling of quarterback Kirk Cousins.

“GM who reportedly is a football mind and players GM, gone. The Design Cheap Jerseys franchise record breaking QB 2Xs over wants a trade. It’s Echl Cheap Jerseys only March,” he tweeted.
